Janes is a niche provider of rescue and recovery solutions to both the corporate and personal sectors.

Janes is headed up by David Hughes, who started his career in the public sector with the Insolvency Service. Eager to learn more, he moved into the private sector with a ‘Big Four’ practice and where he qualified as a chartered certified accountant. The move into private practice was a natural step for David, and one which he made some ten years ago.

Says David, “I wanted to get closer to the work and stay with each job - not just do the busy stuff at the beginning. With Janes I am able to walk each client through every stage of the process; I don’t have to pass the case on to a back office team or process centre as I don’t have expensive cost centres to fund out of fees.

Over the years I have developed a network of key specialist advisers on a diverse range of matters from tax planning to asset finance which means I am able to resource even the most complex of assignments.

I cover all aspects of insolvency and recovery work, whether advising a creditor on recovery prospects, implementing a complex business restructuring, or helping an individual cope and deal with the burden of personal debt. I do get a buzz out of my work and consider myself fortunate to be in a position to help others in finding solutions to what might seem like financial nightmares.”
